Albany April 21st, 1876

Special Orders No. 41 - It appearing by the return of Brigad[ier] General Ira. L Beebe Commanding the Eleventh Brigade N.G.S.N.Y that Capt. S. Gilbert Evans, Ord Officer of the 11th Brigade has faithfully and honorably performed the duties required of him by the Military Code of the State and is under such Code entitled to be discharged from further service in the Militia, therefore in pursuance of the Military Code and of the General Regulations S. Gilbert Evans is hereby honorably discharged from further service in the military forces of the State except in the case of Insurrection or Invasion.
