Jean Parrish

Jean Parrish (b. 1911) Jean Parrish was born in Cornish, New Hampshire on June 26, 1911 the youngest in a family of three older brothers. Her father, Maxfield Parrish was one of America's most recognized illustrators. At 14, Jean Parrish was enrolled at Ethel Walker's School for Girls. She spent almost two years at Smith College at the beginning of the Depression. In 1937, she and Joe Seymore were married. Their daughter Anne was born in 1940. Jean and Joe were divorced in 1949.
